Cars and the Creep of Software
I give it 20 years before it implodes, lol. Really informative post, tech heavy but as a Green Wizard I can see a whole lot of downside in this trend.
How Software Is Eating the Car
As a writer, I can see a bunch of possible story ideas in this too.

I heard this story from a 20-year car salesman
I had dinner in late May with our local bookseller and her husband, Jason.
Jason's been selling cars for 20 years.
He told us that the car manufacturers have *THOUSANDS* of cars sitting on lots waiting for a chip to arrive. They can't run without the microchips but because of bottlenecks and surging demand and supply issues, the chips are on backorder.
No chip, no running vehicle even though everything else works.
