I know that Japanese culture is hugely different from Western culture in many things. There's a lot there we could benefit from. I came across this in this video "The Secret Money Saving Rule I Learned in Japan" about the "Kakeibo". It is a budgeting tool focused on household expenses, through the use of a small monthly journal.
