Hello, my name is Michelle, just call me Copper.
Why copper? Well it's a shortened version of one of my usernames on discord, copperdragon, that simply stuck and is actually rather fitting if one is familiar with Pathfinders description of a copper dragon, and the nature of the metal as well.

I come from Salt Lake City, UT, and live with my fiance and a mystical kitty, Moona. Came to know Green Wizards via Ecosophia.

It's not every day that you'd find a young twenty something year old city girl desprately wanting to get out of the concrete jungle shortly after dropping out of college (studying Chemistry and Coputer Science for a year) and getting out of a toxic family situation. With more and more prople moving in and political tentions as they are, it's not a hidden fact that this kind of living is unsustainable and toxic to the mind, body, and spirit of individuals.

Attracted the the "dark, occult, and wierd" aspects of society and ones soul, a punk and a goth at heart, I picked up several different ideas and practices and combined them into my personsl toolkit in ADD fashion. I like learning new things and reading, playing TTRPGs and games, listening to a wide variety of music, drawing, crafting, writing, cooking, and working.

Glad to have another "weird one". You should fit right in, lol.

I had to look up TTRPG so you've already taught me something new! One of the things I truly love doing is cooking up a big meal and having people over for a game night. I'm actually terrible at anything other than short, easy games (no TTRPGs for me) but I love the event of it.

Would love it if you gave us some of your favorites. I keep a stocked game shelf for low tech entertainment.

Welcome!

I mean table top role playing games are actually really simple and versatile. Table top war gaming is perhaps the most strenuous and expensive, there's a reason why there's a term called plastic crack. Essentially the game that keeps on giving and cheaper than video games by far because all you're doing is story telling. But hey, you got your own preferences.

So far my favorite card/board/dice games are Red Dragon Inn, Coup, Cards Against Humanity, Dead man's dice, phase ten, farkle/10,000, yatzee, Tsuro of the seas, Pandemic, Smash up, Welcome to the dungeon, and a handful of others.

To be honest I'd just visit your local board game store or go to gaming conventions where all the nerds hang out, and browse, maybe demo a few games, because there's thousands of games ranging from "short and simple" to "your gonna need a day or two off for this" game, really it just depends on the game, how many people you're playing with, and what you're actually interested in (sci-fi, fantasy, Lovecraft, humor and chaos, drinking, civilizations, cute, etc.) . I'd say be aware many stores are into card games like Pokemon and Magic the Gathering (MtG), because that's what people are really into, and I'd advise to get the games with multiple expansions or different versions of the same concept (Red Dragon Inn, Cards Against Humanity, Coup, Pandemic, Smash Up, Tsuro, etc.).

We are teaching yahtzee to our 7 year old. I haven't heard of the rest, will have to look them up. Honestly, I had Pandemic but I donated it to goodwill last year because I didn't even want to look at it!! ha.

My favorite group game is Space Team, fast and fun. You have to solve problems on a space ship. So...we probably need a collapse friendly version of that, "Bio-Diesel Rusted Out Van Team" or something.

Welcome indeed. I think you will find the company here very pleasant and full of useful knowledge/advice.

Thank you! Certainly learned a bit already!

Hi Copper!
Welcome to our little group.
Please feel free to comment; we love a lively discussion about making do and making things happen.
