hello from the old world
Hello, let me introduce myself. I am a 37-year-old man from the north of Spain (I am Basque). I have been dealing with the issue of peak oil for years, but my vision of the world was very materialistic. Then came the covid and the lockdown and it was like a veil falling. I have started a spiritual search because I feel a great emptiness.
excuse my grammatical errors I don't usually write or speak in English

Welcome Achille
Nice to meet someone from Spain. I am sure you will have plenty to contribute and I look forward to your comments.
Do not worry about the English, plenty of us can not speak it either.

Hi Achille,
Glad you could join the company. I look forward to hearing your thoughts from time to time. I also have trouble with English, it wasn't my best subject in school and I don't know a second language beyond a few words.

Hi and welcome
Good to meet you, and looking forward to hearing a viewpoint from outside North America. Do you grow food? If so, what types of things do you grow? No one will be bothered by imperfect English, please don't worry about it. I can't speak spanish.

Hello, Achille from the Old World
Hello, Achille. Our mainstream news is totally unreliable. How are things for ordinary people where you live? In the rural Northeastern US, where I live, we have frequent shortages. But we still have plenty of food and other necessities. People seem worried but fairly calm. I'm curious to hear what it's like where you are!

At the moment, in the area
At the moment, in the area where I live, the shelves are still full, probably because we are one of the richest areas in the country and we can pay higher prices. But this situation will not last, our wealth comes from industry and due to high energy prices many companies are stopping or closing down, and raw materials and chips are lacking. In addition, our exports have fallen. The situation in the rest of Spain is even worse since the south lives on tourism and agriculture. The confinements have destroyed tourism and agriculture has many problems due to the rise in the price of fertilizers and diesel, to which we must add a terrible drought.
