Pittsburgh July and August Meetings

The Green Wizards' Benevolent and Protective Association, Tower No. 412, and the Rememberers' Guild, Local 412 of Pittsburgh, are pleased to announce two additional meetings in July. Salvus per ignem!

In addition to our Full Moon Hike on July 8, we will meet for two lectures later in July at South Park.

The first is a class on "Home Preserving and Canning" on Tuesday July 25 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at South Park's Buffalo Inn. The class will focus on water-bath canning and freezing. The second is a class on "Urban Myths and Legends in the Garden" on Wednesday July 26, also from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Buffalo Inn. Cost for each class is $5 for Allegheny County residents and $6 for non-residents. Register and pay online.

Look for a green wizard's hat and displayed copy of the Green Wizardry book to find us. Afterward, we may gather at a local restaurant for food, drink, and discussion of topics from Ecosophia.

In light of the timing in late July, these two classes will probably constitute our August meeting as well.

Tonight's presentation on food preserving was very informative, but one scheduling change: The instructor said that tomorrow's (Wednesday's) lecture on urban myths on gardening has been canceled. So, no Green Wizards meeting tomorrow, either.
