Water Wars in Arizona

The picture at the top of the article sent a chill up my back. The thin white line in the upper part of the crop circle is a sprinkler system. Compare the lush green of the crops and the bone dry dustiness of the surrounding homes.

I've lived there. When I lived in Tucson in the 1970's and 1980's, the city wells were 800 feet deep. Now they are going down 3,000 feet and more to get water for Tucson! They are also bringing in nasty water from the Central Arizona Project, pumping water up a canal from 1,300 feet elevation near Phoenix to 2,300 feet at Tucson.I have some friends that still live there, I can't understand how they can see this happening and don't think they have to get out!
