Ancient Potatoes In North America

Here's an interesting look at a variety of potato common to the Midwest of America and how it may have been spread by early Americans.

While I love the historical information I can't help but be interested in any plant variety that is outside of the few that Big Ag's monoculture has over planted, as a fall back should climate change give rise to blight and disease.

Might have to see if I can find some seed potatoes of this one for my own garden.
