I've been a mostly-quiet member for a while, and I should finally introduce myself! Apologies for not doing so before now.

I comment from time-to-time with the same handle on Ecosophia.net, which is how I found out about this forum. I live in Nova Scotia, Canada, and my wife and I bought a house a few months ago, and I'd like to learn how to reduce our energy usage, avoid harming the environment us, and take part in our community - basically, to put into the topics discussed on this forum into practice in my own lifestyle. My wife is on board with this, too. I have JMG's Green Wizards book, and just yesterday I received Teresa's book Fed, Safe & Sheltered, so I have lots to draw on!

Eventually, after we settle from our move, I'd like to learn about our local ecology and get back to practicing the piano. Thanks for all your helpful answers so far to my pre-introduction questions!
