Hello from the Northeast

Hello,

Finally joining up here. Longtime JMG reader - occasional anonymous commenter.

I started on this journey after reading The Long Emergency by JH Kunstler maybe 10 years ago. Found JMG a few years later and haven't stopped reading.

I keep trying at suburban homesteading. I garden in Zone 4-5. I harvested squash, herbs and tomatoes this morning and am getting ready to dry the herbs and can some zucchini relish. Took a year long break from chickens after the last ones went to the 'retirement farm'. Looking to get back into in next spring.

I live in a blue place and haven't had anyone to talk with about a lot of the recent happenings in the world. I feel so connected to so many people here just from reading the blogs and am poking my head out of the sand to be a little less anonymous because it's gotten pretty lonely.

Nice to be here - looking forward to learning from you all.

KMA
